The East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League is a set of 6 Cross Country Races of about 5 miles each, normally one per month between October and March.

Entry can be on the day or runners can enter in advance to cover all 6 races.

The organisers work on the basis that it is easier to have people book ahead for all 6 races and therefore offer a substantial discount for those that enter all races en-block.

For example for the 2017 to 2018  season, entering all 6 races in advance cost £10 while entry on the day was £3 per event.

All races take place on Sunday mornings in East Sussex and the exact locations will vary season to season.

They include Warren Hill in Eastbourne, Pett Wood near Hastings, Wadhurst and Ashdown Forest. The senior races start at 10.30am and juniors at 10am.

The current club representative is the Mens Club Captain who will advise on cost and timing for the block booking of all 6 events.

Other information can be found either through the East Sussex Country League Facebook page or through their website which explains the scoring and other rules that apply.

The Sussex Races website also contains details of the race dates.

This event is great for those wanting to improve their cross country running skills and whilst a competition it has proven to be a friendly event that supports runners of all abilities.
