6 Hailsham harriers took part in the Lewes Dowland 10 Mile on Sunday October 6th 2019. This is the 10th race of The Sussex Grand Prix. The challenging 10 mile off-road course takes in beautiful views of the Sussex Downs and The Weald.
Fortunately the rain held off and out off a field of 272 runners the first Harrier home and in 11th place overall was Gary Judges 1:08:08 also winning his age category. Second Harrier home was Graham Purdye 1:18:17 followed closely by the first female Harrier home, Lisa Goldsmith in a time of 1:18:53 who placed an impressive 5th lady overall. Helen O’Sullivan 1:28:32, Leeland Pavey 1:33:34 and Gary Smith 1:35:40 made up the black and red team of 6.
Well done to everyone who took part. The next Sussex Grand Prix fixture is The Hove Prom 10K on Sunday 20th October.
